What is Equifax?

Equifax is a consumer credit reporting agency.
Equifax collects and aggregates information on
over 800 million individual consumers and more
than 88 million businesses worldwide. The headquarters
is located in Atlanta, Georgia. Equifax has investments
in over 24 countries from North America to Asia.

The Impact of MILLIONS

In September of 2017, Equifax had offically announced
a data breach in their system. This impacted the lives
of 147 million people by releasing their personal information.
This hack was worldwide impacted the lives of people in Europe
and Asia. This can effect your family as the data of your parents
are out, and there's no way in stopping others from getting their
information. This can lead to families losing money, and being
unable to pay for certain items. As the information of peoples
personal information was spreading throughout the air, many
became cautious in trusting their credit union for nobody knew
if there would be another data breach with their credit union.
Equifax's data breach led society in a place of doubt in whether
or not their money is truly in good hands.

How Do You Know if Your Data was Breached?

As some people weren't effected by the data breach, are you sure
that you weren't effected yet? You can find out if your data was
breached by unauthorized charges from your credit that you never
made, or if someone stole your identity and you were found in a
different part of the world. If any of these events has happened
to you then you were effected by a data breach. However, if you
were hacked, Equifax has has returned $130 dollars to the families
that were effected. This is barely enough money to cover all of the
lost money from the breach.
